"My name is Connor Temple. Seven years ago, I joined the A.R.C, a secret government organization tasked with investigating rips through time, known as anomalies. These anomalies allow creatures from distant eras to cross into the present. Our job is to find them and contain them. A few months ago, my colleagues uncovered a conspiracy that threatens the A.R.C's operations and everyone involved with it. We still don't know who they are or why they're after the A.R.C, but I know that we must find out soon or it could be the end of the A.R.C team."
- Connor Temple's intro

Announcement []
On 8 August 2014, it was announced that Primeval Series 8 had begun production.
On 18 January 2015, it was announced that the show's creators have gained rights to use Primeval: New World characters Evan Cross and Dylan Weir, with Niall Matter and Sarah Canning reprising their roles from the spin-off series. When asked what drove him to include Evan and Dylan to Primeval Series 8, producer Tim Haines said he wanted to include them in the series as central characters pivotal to the final season. He also added that he did not wish for Primeval: New World to be cancelled after a single season, so he added them to the main series to make sure people know about them and watched the spin-off series, Primeval: New World.
Series Cancellation[]
On 1 December 2014, it was announced that the eighth season would be the final instalment of Primeval. "We are upset to confirm that the eighth series will be the final series for Primeval," producer Tim Haines said in an interview but he stated that it will be "the perfect ending" for Primeval.
Later, on 7 February 2015, it was announced that Primeval will be cancelled after Series 8, mainly due to budgeting issues, but it was also the decision of the cast and crew to end the series, wanting to end it on a high note, so they can work on other projects and the show's spin-off series, Primeval: New World.
